hi im currently in the process of immigrating to melbourne. im just wondering what $55k means as an indication of a means of payment(in South african terms) and if it is enough to maintain a family of 4. thanks

Hi Makhtum, If what you mean is $55,000 as an annual salary or wage per year, you would definitely have to stick to a tight budget because the money would not go very far. It would be very difficult to put a good amount (or even any amount) into any sort of savings account, however, a family of four could be supported on that amount. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
