Hi,
I just joined this forum because of this thread.
I've not seen anything info for Africans. Maybe I've not looked hard enough, pls pardon me. Does SABIC have a separate rate for Africans?

Are all the grades entitled to allowances i.e housing, transport etc?

carwhacko can give you a proper answer ; SABIC is not my employer

What should be your minimum salary to afford your family without kids.

How do you think you could be? Tell us your opinion.:)

what about MBA ?

I will be getting a job offer end of this week from a manufacturing company in Jeddah. Can someone guide me roughly on accomodation for a family of four- me, my wife and 2 girls - prefereably a 2 bedroomed flat in a compound, fees in private schools (british/american syllabus, monthly grocery for 4. Just a guide on the prices so that I know where to negotiate from. Thank you.

The topic is "Minimum salary package .." and you are asking for an accommodation " ?

Dear Friends,

What should be the basic monthly salary in Saudi Riyal of SADARA chemicals for grade 12 position for graduate engineer with 20+ experience, Indian passport?

Is anybody in forum from Sadara Chemicals?

Regards,

Actually just before I left my country in Europe, my company gave me a consultation with a lawyer specialised in expat matters. Of course I asked how much I supposed to be earning abroad. They had a simple method for it..

He said to use your local grocery list , just with your milk, cheese etc. and than to check how much you would paying for the same products if you would be buying them in your overseas locations. You probably have to pay 2 to 4 times that much... you would than multiply that number with your existing salary... For Middle East there would be probably an added fee for risk and boredom added but that you could also convert into free tickets to your home county or any other destination of equivalent value.

Anyway its been 13 years ago and I got somewhat localised in my overseas location so things have changed. However for starting in a new location, definitely make sure you have a cushion for unexpected cost. Good luck
