Dear all, this is a great Forum! I am moving to Istanbul in about 10 months time for a job in a Public University. My fiancee wants to come with me and I wanted to know what should she do in order to get a residence permit. Are there going to be any difficulties for it? She hasn't secured a job as yet, can she come with me?

Let me mention that we both have EU nationality (Greek).

and to add to that another question: while she is there and if she finds a job, can she get a work permit as well?

Once you get here she can apply for a residency permit at the police station (emniyet). It will be great help for you if you know someone who speaks Turkish. You need to take an appointment online in advance and prepare some documents (all listed on the website). She will not be entitled for a work permit this way. You need an employer to get a work permit, but she will need 6 months left on her residency permit. Let me know if you need more info
