is it popular to share a flat in Jeddah ?
What advice would you give to those looking for shared accommodation in Jeddah?
Can you recommend specialized local websites or newspapers?
By the way, keep in mind there is a flat share/house share section in the Classifieds

In Jeddah is normal to share flat for men but for women it will be Little difficult to find it...

Hi Christine,
If ur a working lady and u have residence permit from job visa then the sponsor or the company who is hiring will provide u the housing, and u have not choice as it is restricted for a woman to stay anywhere or with anyone, unless with blood relations like Parent, brothers family or sisters family. It is not permitted by ur Law.

Simply put. single men usually do share flats. and there are some blocks of flats that are dedicated only for singles. Getting a flat in a family building is difficult and very rare. That goes for all of Saudi Arabia.
Single women as pointed out are usually given accommodation by the company and that too is on sharing basis at times.
Families sharing flats are also not unheard off, but usually that happens int he bigger flats which are usually converted to two flats using blinds, wooden partitions, etc.
