The Jazz diaries and ROVE proudly present our Kulture Club series where we explore food, music and art from around the world.
For our first instalment James Abbas, a restaurateur from London now residing in Lisbon, will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Persian cuisine.
As a child, he was fascinated by the way food was prepared and served on the traditional Persian tablecloth, the Sofreh.
This delectable feast, inspired by traditional recipes passed down from generations of women in the Iranian side of his family will be recreated at our table.
The menu will feature a blend of age-old Persian recipes and principles, utilising the freshest Portuguese ingredients for a feast of flavours.
All of this against the backdrop of traditional Iranian music with Daf; the ancient drum and keyboard played live by Rahman Haghighi and his partner Reza Ehsani.
