Ex-pat community in Kampala

do you know anything about Kampala - have been offered a job and really don't know what to do!!

I will be arriving in Kampala next week and I would like to meet interesting people too. Apparently I will be alone as an international staff in my organization. Anybody can inform me also great places to make friends???

I would be very interested to talk to you when you arrive. I work in an international school and we have run holiday clubs in the past. It's certainly very much needed, but not always possible on the same school site (due to building works etc in the holidays). I could put you in touch with interested and active people. I have just put up a post about the need for activities for my own son as the holidays loom large!
Will the target be children in the residential city areas or disadvantaged groups? And will you be interested in all levels of society or have a specific target (ie. children with disability). I was thinking of starting an art club and wil be looking for committed volunteers.
