I make it short

shared room: between 200 and 250 (go for the neustadt, best district).

in other regards the price level is below Germany's average, since it's pretty far in the east. However, it's an awesome city, and you get along with a 600 Euro as a bare minimum. This includes a couple of drinks, cooking your own stuff with some kebap sometimes.

Compared to Italy food is relatively cheap, same holds for public transportation (well, you still would be better with a bike though).
