Diesel or gasoline car?

Diesel is cheaper in Vietnam and the diesel consumption of a diesel car is not that high.

But since it's known that the car manufacturers have cheated, the reputation of the diesel has taken damage. Some cities want ban diesel cars from cities in some years.

How is the reputation and availability of diesel in Vietnam?
Is it to be expected that in the near future something happened concerning the diesel in Vietnam?
For example higher taxes?

Thanks.

Go out to anywhere on the highway that circles HCMC (AH1) at night when they travel and you will see an almost continuous stream of large trucks that provide the city with foodstuffs and take away manufactured items.  Vietnam is not going to get rid of diesel any time in the foreseeable future.  One drawback could be that you may not find diesel at your neighborhood petrol station.   Be sure to check out your source of supply before committing to diesel.  Diesel cars can be a real pain if they run out of fuel because you will need to bleed the fuel system if you do.

Thank you for the information.
I will check the petrol stations for diesel.

Most stations these days sell diesel.
