Retiring in Wales

Hello everyone,

Why did you choose to retire in Wales? What are the advantages compared with your home country?

What were your main considerations when deciding to move? For example, taxes, ease of transferring your pension, etc..

Are there any specific formalities you had to go through as a retiree moving to Wales (for example, is there a particular retirement visa)?

What is Wales's healthcare like? Have you had any good or bad experiences dealing with healthcare professionals?

Do you have any tips for other retirees in Wales?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I worked in UK and Wales for many years and worked very hard for the land and people. I paid all my life Tax and now I will be retiring in Wales so that I can be looked after by the state like i looked after the people and state when I was young. Beside Wales is very friendly part of UK. Here people are helpful and care others. Its green country and plenty of activity for senior citizens. Health care is free and very good. Moreover I have a lot of friends here.
