The cost off living here overall have gone up significantly over the past couple years, due to low oil prices.

Costs are set to go up even further as the government try to "balance the books" so to say. Salaries remain the same and most companies have removed some benefits ( rental allowances schiol fees) which has resulted in lots of expats leaving.

Oman is a lovely place to be despite the financial crunch. Its quiet, clean, most people are friendly and very helpful. The weather is lovely and there are lots of beautiful sights to see.
