Would one work with a lawyer in Mauritius to set up a bank account and register the company?

Your first point of contact is the BOI : investmauritius.com

before contacter a lawyer, you should get in touch with them and see how it goes. It might not be this complicated to set up a company here (I did it 5 years ago )
