Meeting You

Hi All,
Me and a friend of mine are leaving for a small visit Sosua, Cabrera, Las Terrenas, Las Galeras and Punta Cana.  Miriam and myself (Sylvie) will arrive at the Puerta Plata Airport on Thursday, November 12 at 14:44 p.m.
Our itinerary will be:
- 6 nights in Sosua (12-18 Nov)
- 3 nights in Cabrera (18-21 Nov)
- 6 nights in Las Terrenas (21-27 Nov)
- 2 nights in Las Galeras (27-29 Nov)
- 7 nights in Punta Cana (29 Nov-6 Dec)

We would love if we could meet as many of expatriate to learn about your experience etc.  Let me know when and where if possible.  Would be really fun if we could get a group gathering at the beginning of our trip.

Thanks.
Sylvie

I  would be interested in meeting up in Punta Cana.  There is a likely a few of us who might be able to meet!

I am in the Sosua area and would be glad to meet.  Just give me a shout when you are here as to a good time to do so.

Bob K

That's great.  We are staying at the Infiniti Blu.  I won't have my computer with me.  Should we plan a place and time near we are staying.

Sent you a PM

Bob K

Myself and my Wife would be interested in meeting in the Punta Cana area as we have just moved here from Canada and would love to meet some expats and friends we have met who live in the D.R. Sounds like it would be a good time

That would be great to meet in Punta Cana.  We are finishing our trip in an all inclusive at the Bavaro Princess All Suites but it doesn't stop us to meet somewhere for a bit to eat and/or drinks or better yet book a day trip on a catamaran.  What about Tuesday December 1. Looking forward in meeting you Planner :)

Tuesday December 1st will work fine fine fine for me!!!  Catamaran -  have not been on one in a few years!   But not sure that will work well for me and the others. Lets plan a lunch meeting in Bavaro!

Greetings, I saw by your post that you are staying at infinity blu. My wife & I stayed here in 2011, you will love it!

Yes it is an excellent complex, centrally located, and with an awesome restaurant on site (Mio's).

Bob K

Wow, I didn't know they have a restaurant there now. They were planning on a grocery store, is there one there now?

No grocery store but many large stores in town.

Bob K

Great to know that one of our accommodation will be excellent.  I would like to know about the other places that we plan to stay are worth going or if you have better suggestions.  Keep in mind that we do not want to spent an enormous amount of money.  In Cabrera, we are planning to stay at the El Malecon B&B.  In Las Terrenas at the Las Palmas Residence and at La Galeras at the Aparthotel La Isleta.  Thanks.

Forgot to mention.  I am having second thoughts about staying in Cabrera and am wondering if I should prolong my stay in Sosua from 6 nights to 9 or  Las Terrenas from 6 nights to 9 or should we stick with staying in Cabrera at the El Malecon or in another accommodation.  Thank you all in advance for all your recommendations/comments.

Leaving in a few day and I would really like to hear your comments.  I am thinking of cancelling going to Cabrera and stay at the Grand Bahia Principe San Juan in Rio San Juan in the North Coast.  Do you think it is better than Cabrera and staying at the El Malecon?

If you want to experience more of the local flavor stay in Cabrera.  Rio San Juan is also a good choice as you will be centrally located to visit Cabrera, playa Grande, Playa Caleton, but it is a resort.

Bob K

What about if we stay at the Resort but do adventure outside.  Is there a town and expat/locals, restaurants etc in San Juan or are we better to stay in Cabrera?  I am having second thoughts about staying at the El Malecon B&B.  Do you think it is a good place or do you recommend staying somewhere else that is in that range price or a bit more. Also, can you tell me how I get transportation from Sosua to Rio San Juan or Cabrera and then to Las Terrenas and then Las Galeras and last to Punta Cana?  I would really like if I would know ahead of time the kind of transportation we will get and the time that we need to take time.   Thanks.

I found the Rio Grand Bahia isolated.  If you want local flavor don't go there.

Too late.  I cancel the El Malecon B&B as I found out that they are having some reno being done.  We are going to Rio San Juan at the Bahia Principe all Incl. but are planning to go outside the resort hapand do a trip to the Gri Gri Lagoon and perhaps some others stuff.

Planner, let me know where and when and time you want to meet in Punta Cana.  We are staying at the Bavaro Princess All Suites close to the Casino.

Tuesday December 1!  Let's say 1pm and we can choose a spot.

Let me know where ahead of time as I will not have my computer with me.  Planner what is your real name :)

Next thing you will be asking her age and weight :D:D:D:D:D:D

Bob K

Hey boys.... name is Darlene,  age  somewhere around  "39",  weight  - excellent and no complaints from anyone  - wait - oh hell no,  I hate waiting..... :)

I will PM you my  cell number as well so you have it.

I really like both of your replies.  Good sense of humor.  We are going to get along very well and laugh a lot.  Bob if you see today two women talking to each other and LOL and wondering what they are saying well I will tell you "one women says to the other that her husband is an angel; the other women response, gosh your lucky, mine is still alive".  Have a wonder day.  Sylvie LOL

Hahahahaha  I love it...... Tooo funny.

Hi Darlene,

I am guessing that you are driving to meet us.  I was wondering if it would be possible and not to much trouble to pick us up in front of the Casino which is just next door to our resort which is the Bavaro Princess All Suites.  If possible, let me know the time.   Thanks so much.    Sylvie and Miriam.  Our flight is at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for Puerto Plata.

Sure that will be fine!!!!  Will pick you up at  12:30!
