You can rent a place for between $250,$350 per month.
You will need airconditioning as VTE gets very humid and hot.
Power around $30,$40 per month
Food $200 per month
Mobile phones are cheap and get a prepaid card
Transport can be pricey depending where you live. A tuktuk costs around $5 for a 5 klm ride.
Just look online by putting 'real estate vientiane' into your search engine
You can also do the same for finding out cost of living in vientiane.

Saw a 1 bdr serviced apt advertised in the window at simeuang today for 450pm. Probably negotiable. I thought this was not too bad as the apt is serviced daily and fully furnished with an LCD TV
