Am not terribly familiar with the civil engineering opportunities however contruction is on the rise in New Zealand.
As you may well be aware that New Zealand and in particular the city of Christchurch has suffered a large number of earthquakes in recent times. I imagine the skills of civil engineers are in higher demand in this area.
