Renewing Our Temporary Residency as TCN after changes in Criteria

We arrived in Cyprus in September 2022 and as a TCN we obtained our Temporary residency in October 2022. We renewed our Temporary Residency in September 2023. This is what we needed:

A Rental Agreement or a Contract of Sale for a property (This needs to be lodged with the Land Registry), We ended up having to supply both as our house purchase will not be complete until December 2023 and the rental agreement was needed to cover the period from September to December 2023.

Proof of Residency for the previous year - we supplied electricity bills for the period.

Marriage Certificate with an apostille stamp.

Passports showing the date of entry to Cyprus.

Bank Statements from our Cypriot Bank for the last six months, must show a balance of at least €8,000 on the most recent statement. The bank statements should show a regular income from outside Cyprus totaling at least €2400 per month for a couple.

Income Statement outlining the amount of Income we get from outside Cyprus this must total more than €28,800 per couple per year.

Proof of all sources of Income from Outside Cyprus can be in the form of P60, Payment Notifications, Dividends, Payslips, etc.

Because we arrived before the rule changes we did not need to undergo any medical tests or supply a Police Certificate for our renewal.

Our MRC1s - Alien Registration Certificate, the reception document, and receipt of payment.

This was our experience and the renewal went very smoothly.

On another note it took 11 months to receive our Biometric cards which expired 1 month after we got them. We have been told our new Biometric cards will take up to 5 months to be issued.
