London D7 vs D8 - is there a difference in approval times?

Hello! Yet another visa question...

Is there a difference in terms of how long the D8 vs D7 take to get approved/denied in London?

I qualify for both and was was wondering if one tended to be turned around quicker, as if so, I will apply for that.

Please let me know if you know for London only (as what happens in the US, elsewhere etc. doesn't apply in London, all consulates have slightly different rules, timelines etc.)...

Any insight appreciated! Thanks

According to information available in the Portuguese media, D8 /Digital nomad visa takes about 30 days to be analyzed. But this can vary a lot, it is very likely even less, as the London consulate approved D7 visas in 15 days (see link below).

In the case of the D7 visa, here are some feedbacks from people who obtained this visa at the consulate in London.

When you have responses from your application, it would be helpful for us if you could share it here for other interested applicants.

Thank you! I will definitely keep you updated once I get to the point of actually applying

All resident visas have a 60 day period for processing according to the law. Depending on where you are applying from, it can take more time or less time. It varies a lot, but there is no distinction in the type of visa.

From the feedbacks given here, the time vary and a lot... "According to the law", it is only in theory...

@Nia Queiroz thank you! Yes I am aware of the 60 days but I was wondering on person experiences of people applying from London, just in case it affected my decision to go for the d7 or d8
