APC is an ISO 9001.2008 quality managed corporation with manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States and China providing over 34 years of custom air filter design, engineering, manufacturing and filter testing to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of industrial, commercial and domestic equipment and appliances.

We seek an SQE/SDE Manager to oversee our Suzhou and Shanghai supply chain and quality control requirements to assist CDN engineering teams with product development initiatives for Chinese suppliers. Additional duties include assisting purchasing department with logistics support and ISO compliance for existing and new suppliers.


Supplier and QA Management:

Visit suppliers to inspect production filters for quality control compliance to technical drawings and specifications prior to packaging and shipping finished goods.
Review product drawings, technical specifications and provide feedback to APC engineering department.
Review pre-production sample parts for compliance to technical specifications and provide formal PPAP report for customer approval.
Review and manage RFQs (request for quotes) sent from APC Canada for new projects.
Visit suppliers to perform semi-annual QC checks for ISO quality control compliance.
Assist APC engineering team on product design, tooling design and manufacturing options.
Research new suppliers and new raw materials and obtain finished product quotes from new suppliers.
Compare new supplier manufacturing capabilities vs current suppliers and approve new suppliers.
Work with suppliers to reduce lead time to meet deadlines for projects, samples and quotes.
Set up vendor management procedures.
Implement PPAP key elements for key projects where required.
Ensure product test procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.

Supplier Development:

Visit all manufacturers to inspect factory, manufacturing capabilities, QA/QC procedures, testing abilities and product and engineering capabilities to meet APC ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms and conditions with all Chinese suppliers.

Purchasing and Logistics:

Work with APC purchasing on shipping & freight requirements.
Confirm receipt of orders to Chinese suppliers and delivery timelines from suppliers to APC purchasing.
Handle courier samples in and out of China (Bralco, FedEx, TNT, DHL, AMCO, FansTrans).
Co-ordinate drop shipments direct to North American, Australian and New Zealand customers.
Determine best supplier to work with for each new specific filter project, when samples shipped from APC Canada

Other Duties:

Translate English/Chinese manufacturing agreements with suppliers as and when required.
Validate quote information to APC requirements (ie: carton size, pcs/carton, etc)

Must be technically competent with MS Office software and Project Management.
Successful working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Product development including Applied Research & Development a must.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and flexible during times of change.
Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
Excellent English verbal and written communications to APC staff and Chinese supply chains.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Experience in resource planning is critical.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Quality Control with working experience within an ISO environment.
10 years of work experience in a project management for industrial or commercial products or 7 years of Product Development experience in a related industry with supervisory responsibilities.
Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Direct experience with Asian manufacturing operations and suppliers is desired but not required..
Good Chinese verbal and written is required.
