Art and Emotion: guided tour of the Capitoline Picture Gallery
The purpose of this guided tour of the Capitoline Picture Gallery is to acquire the right skills to read and understand a work of art, through its observation and the interpretation of its hidden symbols, sacred and profane.
During the visit we will observe different groups of artists to decode the approaches they’ve taken in order to depict emotions in their art.
We will learn to recognise the techniques and styles of great masters such as Dosso Dossi, Titian, Veronese, Caravaggio, Domenichino, Guido Reni, Pietro da Cortona, Van Dyck and Velazquez, to name only the most famous artists represented in the gallery: a real treasure chest of art
