Being a social worker in China

Hey,
Right now I'm studying social work online and I haven't found much information online. I was wondering what the process is to be a social worker in child welfare. I'd really appreciate any comments yinz have.

How is your Chinese?

Beginner but I'm in the process of learning it.

The easiest work that you can get as an expat in China is as a teacher. I found that when I taught English to adults, that I was acting as a sociologist, counselor, and psychologist more than an English teacher. I ended up helping people in all kinds of areas because there is a stigma in China about seeing help for these kind of things.

The best thing that you can do for this role is to work at a "training center" for Adults. I helped a man go through mid-life crisis, a young girl get over an inferiority issue with her weight, and a judge learn about how American courts work. I have helped a woman learn how to drive, and another on the importance in joining a church in America.

Think about it...
