Over the past year, in England (UK) has become increasingly tough on issuing visas to non EU citizens. The British government does issue a list of a shortage of skilled workers.
All that information can be found on their Shortage Occupation List Website.

The UK is currently short of truck drivers, but the job does not appear on the Shortage Occupation list. In general, drivers get paid reasonably well but can expect to spend nights away from home sleeping in their cabs.
Any expat that turns up with the appropriate driving licence & training certificates will find a job reasonably quickly.
