Flight departure 10 days after the expiration of the tourist VISA

Hi!

First sorry for my english, I'm a french bad english speaker... I hope you will understand me.

I have a question regarding my girlfriend who is in South Africa at present.
She has a toursit VISA already extended 2 months more (so 5 months at all).

The Visa stops on the second of July (date of return flight).

But I want to visit her in south Africa and come back in France 10 days later (the 12th of July).

What might be the problems with the VISA ?

At all her trip won't exceed 5.5 months.

I heard of great problems... I don't want her to be in jailed!

But when the total lenght of the trip don't exceed 6 months it might be alright ?
When the home affairs extend the VISA is it for 3 full months more? (the problem is that she has shown her electronic ticket for the return flight : the 2nd of July...).

Thank in advance for your help

Thomas

If she leaves the country on the day her visa expires there should not be any problem at all.  Your visa should well cover your ten day stay.

If you want to enter and return after she leaves, as MiaCulpa assumes, then yes, you are fine. But if she leaves after her visa has expired, she will be banned from SA for 12 months under Directive 9 of the new immigration regulations.
