hi nicola, i used to live in vancouver and have family there. it's a great city; expensive; people have a better approach to work/life balance; you're surrounded by ample recreational opportunities and the lifestyle in general is more laid back. the city has grown and the infrastructure is somewhat constricted but that doesn't deter people from enjoying life (vancouver tied in 5th place for the mercer quality of living worldwide survey) http://www.mercer.com/qualityoflivingpr#city-rankings.
