Accommodation in Ras Al-Khaimah


Finding accommodation with be one of your main priorities if you have decided to relocate in Ras Al Khaimah. Find some useful tips in this article.

Each year, an increasing number of expats choose to move to Ras Al Khaimah. Indeed, how to resist the warm subtropical climat, the sun, the sand, the beach and the clear blue lagoons? You will find not only houses and villas in residences, but also studios and apartments. If you make a short trip, you can opt for one of the hotels in the area.


To rent an apartment in Ras Al Khaimah, you must submit the following documents to the owner:

  • a copy of your residence permit
  • your passport
  • a copy of your payslips

You will also need to pay a deposit equal to one (sometimes two) months' rent. If you go through a real estate agency, you will probably have to pay a commission (around 5%).

  Good to know:

Rent in Ras Al Khaimah must be paid annually or twice a year. You can pay your rental by bank transfers or postdated checks. Note that checks issued by a foreign bank are not accepted. Some Emirati companies could even pay your rent directly by making the necessary deductions from your monthly salary.

Find accommodation

You will find classified ads in local newspapers and on the Internet. Start your search by establishing a list of preferences, or the area where you want to live, the number of rooms and the rental amount you will pay.


Housing prices vary according to the different regions and the number of rooms. Prices in the city center may be higher than in the outskirts. Moreover, many new buildings are actually being built in Ras Al-Khaimah. So you can rent a three bedroom house with a courtyard and a backyard, as well as a garage as from 75,000 dirhams per year (18,200 euros). A two-bedroom apartment would cost you an average of 30,000 dirhams (7,300 euros) per year.

Private rentals with the owners do not require a resident/work visa. If you ask, many owners/agents accept 4 cheque payments.
