Experience Borealis from the inside as a volunteer!
Borealis couldn’t happen without it’s amazing volunteers! Every year, we are lucky to gather a group of volunteers that helps us create an exciting festival. Do you want to be a part of Borealis 2019?
Working as a volunteer for Borealis can mean a lot of different things of which you can pick what suits you best: working at the amazing festival kitchen together with our dedicated cooking enthusiasts, helping with event productions in various venues, welcoming our audience with a smile, capturing the festival behind the scenes…and much more!
What you get in return?
• A festival pass that give you access to all the events (some venues might have limited availability)
• A Borealis tote bag and t-shirt
• A free meal during each shift
• A festival work certificate
• An invitation to Borealis after-party where we all celebrate together!

Apart from these amazing goods, there are plenty of benefits of being a volunteer for Borealis:
• Useful work experience to add on your CV
• Develop new skills and learn something new
• Learn about how a festival works from the inside out
• Meet new artists, discover new sounds
• Meeting new people and making new friends
• Expanding you network in Bergen
As a volunteer you must:
• Work a minimum of 18 hours, in 2-5 shifts
• Follow instructions given to you by the festival coordinator and event producers during the volunteer meetings, through emails or when starting you shift
• Meet on time and make sure to contact the volunteer coordinator ahead of time in case of sickness
• Be sober when working and wearing the festival uniform (Borealis t-shirt)
• Acquire knowledge about the festival programme and be a good representative for the festival
• Sign a volunteer contract
