Jungle is a vibrant part of Ecuador, which is the beginning of what separates this country from many others. It is not the only thing by far, but it's a good start. Cuyabeno River Basin Reserve is one of those areas protected, to a degree, as an ecological and environmental treasure of Ecuador. Sadly, the oil deposits that lie underneath are a constant temptation for those charged with it's protection. Just 45 families stand between conservation and plunder. Those who "own," or on record have title to this land, but what happens if they leave or die out? Can others move in? Good question. This area is so rich in wildlife and all the elements that provide Oxygen, with the lush foliage that thrives in this jungle environment. The lifestyle for the inhabitants is simple by comaprrison to city life.
