Events section improvements

request for a rubrique JARDIN/GARDEN is important as a leisure choice for visits - in the same list as museums and other cultural visits/things to do……
Aside from my own garden, on Facebook,  'Les Jardins de la Quinta das Mil Flores" which is open to the visit in the hills above Pedrogao Grande.
Portugal has some really remarkable gardens open to the public, notably:

Queluz, the gardens are undergoing a magnificent restoration and may be visited without the palace - for years they were in ruin
Aveleda gardens belonging to the Guedes family with ravissante follies
Fronteira gardens - privately owned and worldwide famous outside Lisbon with wonderful azuleos
Quinta de las Grimas - where Ines de Castro, La Reine Morte, was assassinated near Coimbra
The amazing esoteric garden of initiation in Sintra 'La Regaleria"
The Busaco Gardens, especially if you go beyond the formal parterres and visit the enormous park with Tree ferns and rare plants

There is a super book by Cristina de Castel Branco published by the CTT 2 years ago and on sale in the post offices with many beautiful gardens in it.

Although some great gardens are attached to monuments, they can be visited alone, and are often more interesting, and unfortunately unsignaled .

Many French, English, US and other garden groups come to Portugal via 'Special Interest" travel agencies and garden associations.

However for individuals, tourists and residents, it is not always easy to know where to go.

Hello Annabelle de la Panouse,

Please note that I have created a new thread from your post on the Help us improve the website forum.

Thank you for your suggestion, it is well noted. Indeed, having more categories for the events section is interesting.

If you have other ideas how we can improve the events section feel free to list them here.
