Does anyone know if you can now as a foreigner renew your costa rica drivers license at Banco Nacional or is it just for costaricans?
I live in the Golfito area and last time had to go to San Isidro de General and would really like not to travel so far.

My understanding is that if you are not a citizen, you must go to the driver's license office in your area. Residency is not good enough.
My question is: How far in advance of the license expiration date can I apply for the renewal..
