Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, 8-week, training program
designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. The program was developed by Kristin
Neff, a pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion (Self-Compassion.org) and
Christopher Germer, PhD, a clinical psychologist in private practice in the US.
The 8-week format: Consists of eight weekly, 2 ½ to 3-hour sessions in a classroom/
discussion group format, plus a 4-hour retreat. This class is often most easily integrated
into our lives and offers an extended opportunity to deepen and solidify our practice.
Prerequisites: Beginners and people who meditate regularly are both welcome, however
no previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.
Instructors: Anja Benesch (Teacher Trainee) & Wiebke Pausch (Trained Teacher). Both
were trained by Chris Germer, Christine Brähler, Regula Saner and Hilde Steinhauser. Anja
works as a psychotherapist in private practice and Wiebke is a Certified Art Therapist.
