where exactly in vientiane center can i buy train tickets to LB? Ive walked around for a good 2 hrs amd i have not seen a tourist here. Im here for 3 days amd not sure what to do so may leave to LB ad soon as I can find a place to buy tickets in the city.

According to the article: Laos-China Railway Opens Ticket Office at Vientiane Center, the Laos-China Railway ticket office is located on the ground floor of Vientiane Center.
However, I hope someone can confirm this information soon....

Someone told me that you can book your ticket on this website but I've never tried : baolau.com.
I checked out the site mentioned above and it does show plenty of travel options. bus, plane, train and costs listed too.
