George and Sandra both hail from the Newcastle area of the North East and after living all over the UK we are planning to retire to Cyprus in 2023. I have been to Cyprus many times since 1974, I was 17 and in the Army then we were sent out to Cyprus to secure the SBA in Dhekelia during the invasion, so my first visit was interesting, to say the least. I also spent 6 months in Dhekelia in the late 70s spending 3 months on the UN line. I came again in the mid-80s but this time for 2 years in Episkopi. We have visited the island many times since the late 1990s and I have been astonished by the changes I have seen.
We have not yet decided on where we want to live, we plan to arrive around spring 2023, and I will retire in Feb 2023. We will rent for a year to sort out residency and our tax status and then probably buy a property.
I have lots of questions which I hope to get answers to via this forum over the coming months.
