What I need to create a bank account in Mauritius

Hi, we will move to mauritius and I would like to have a bank account there, does anyone know what is needed? it is to be able to pay the rent because making transfers from our German bank account would charge me every month an extra for international transfer.

Contact Absa, they were great to deal with while I was out of the country. They will ask for a lot of paper work. Personal references, bank confirmations ect. Simple enough.

We live in SA and have an account with MCB. Excellent service and attention to investments. Our levies and other expenses is done in Mauritius via debit orders at MCB and we have never had one single issue since opening the account in 2015.
Their website is very user friendly and you should get all the info you need to open an account there

We had an unusually pleasant experience with Kate at the Black River branch with opening an account. What a difference she made as far as banks and bank employees go.
