Traveling in/out of Ireland w/o work permit stamp

Has anyone had any experience traveling in and out of Ireland with a work permit, but without having your stamp yet because the appointments are so difficult to obtain?

The answer I received from the BMU was a little evasive.

"Hi Gary,
On returning to the State and presenting to immigration, providing a copy of your valid work permit and explaining your situation to the officer would greatly assist in them making their decision on granting you leave to land.
Regards,
ICO
Border Management Unit
Dublin Airport"

I've done this a few times this year with Covid blocking appointments with immigration. Immigration at the airport put a 3 month stamp on the passport and immigration has informed me that, regardless of my stamp, my status is valid to the date of my work permit.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO much for this feedback. I've been tying myself up in knots thinking that 'of course they'll let me in' but then wondering if it was even worth the risk.

Much appreciated.

Sincerely,
Gary
