Hello All,

My name is Danny, a licensed lawyer who has practised from 2012 until now in Vietnam. I just created a group to support expats living in Vietnam. I hope it will provide you with useful and free advice for your work or business here. You can join via this link: [link moderated]

Many thanks and having a nice weekend!

Julien

Hi Danny,

Why don't  you directly help here ?

Since the beginning of message boards and newsgroups, it is considered as pretty impolite to join an  existing group to promote another newly created group.

Danny Quan

Hi Julien,

I see. Thanks for your instruction. I must create a topic to help here right?

AndyHCMC

Hi Danny,

Please read this extract from Expat.com Code of Conduct which clearly states what is or is not permitted.

ADVERTISING:

The forum is not aimed at helping you to promote your company and products. If your thread is of a commercial nature, please use the dedicated sections: we invite you to register in the Vietnam Business directory or to have a look at our Advertising page.

The forum can’t be used to promote external groups or organizations. Should you want to organize gatherings/activities with the other members, kindly get in touch with us: we would be pleased to help you.

You can not just create a thread outlining your services looking for clients.

So to sum up:- giving Free advice as a member is what the site is all about, any business dealings should be done through the Vietnam Business directory or our Advertising pages and not through forum posts.

Any further information please contact Julien.

There used to be a young lady who was a local paralegal who posted here.   She was very discreet about the boundaries of what could be said openly and never, as far as I know, got her toes stepped on my moderators.  Before the pandemic hit, she gave me a referral by separate direct email for a legal specialist for obtaining a tourist visa to the US for my mother-in-law.  She has since become a full fledged lawyer and may be too busy to post here.  Finding and reading her old posts would be instructional for you Danny Quan

OceanBeach92107 may recall her username so you could search out her posts.

That's her.

She has already done some legal work for me.

The offices of the law firm that she works for are in the same building as the Consulate General of Germany.

That's not enough to locate her, but just saying she's not some fly by night person working out of her apartment.

She truly avoids this forum because of all the craziness and arguments without foundation, but I think if she gets a private message she will respond to that notification.

I'm in contact with her on Zalo.

Highly recommended.

Also, her mother is a really great cook.

I had a nice dinner with her and her partner and her mother one night in their Ho Chi Minh City high-rise.

I had several debates with her, saying they are all unfounded is not fair. She may be a good lawyer, but she sometimes spoke about things she didnt quite grasp.

That's an interesting way to read what I wrote.

I didn't say all arguments in here are unfounded.

I said she is avoiding unfounded arguments, which we both know are prevalent here.

If you feel she was helpful, good for you. I found her to be a self-centered know-all that actually knew very little. We can agree to disagree before the rabbit hole gets full of illogical views.

This the gal you said you want to come back to Vietnam for?

Hello Danny,

I am in need of legal advice in obtaining a work permit & TRC. I have been living in HCMC since March 2017 on a DN business visa but since the arrival of COVID & the lockdown the rules have changed & I have only been able to get extensions. I would like to keep the rest of this conversation confidential so if you would be so kind as to reply to my email: *** I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you, Michael Burr.

And after all of your years of experience here in the forum, including an exhaustive knowledge of the code of conduct, what in the world would make you "think" that?

Perhaps you are confusing a hopeful feeling with a logical thought?

As promised, I am reporting that it was removed.  I guess the only way to exchange emails is by PM.
