Hi everyone,

Looking for a job in the United Arab Emirates is not something you can take lightly, especially now. If you found a new job in the United Arab Emirates during the pandemic or if you are currently searching for one, we would like to know how it went.

How did you go about it? Which job board do you recommend? Did you use a headhunter?
In which sector did you find a job?

Did you train in order to find a new position? If so, which training course(s) did you follow and why?

What about your package? How does it compare with your previous jobs and are you satisfied with it?

What are the most important elements to prioritise or negotiate in a package for a job in the United Arab Emirates in 2021?

Thanks for your contribution!

If you are a permanent Resident of UAE then consider yourself in  a secure mode.  The job opportunities in the region are high compare to other developing countries.  If your credentials are meeting the requirements then definitely you have a bright chance to be on board.

The security of the job is definitely  depending on your calibre and how much do you contribute to the organization.  It's  common in everyone life to "give and take" parameter.

During the pandemic and due to strict restrictions in place , the employers do not have choice of getting candidates from  abroad rather than employing from/within the country.

I was on a management position in EXPO2020 and during covid-19 pandemic they had to downsize most of the personnel by July 2020 (which i still don't understand why?) since then I was actively searching for an opportunity but I guess its not the time yet to land the suitable position.

I did couple of interviews and sending my cv to 100s of sites and jobs ... I was getting the same reply ..that I am to senior for the position, or the opportunity was fake and created just for collecting poeples data to sell it to another companies.

I am optimistic regardless the disappointing outcomes from applying to various opportunities specially here in dubai it feels like only retail or junior level jobs are open pay range between 500 USD to 1000 USD per month which is ridiculous compared to the cost of living in a city like dubai.

Good luck to all job seekers out there in dubai those days.
