Visa query

If I was to come on a marriage visa could I apply for the Premier visa while I am there or

I think you can change your visa category. But I am not sure.

If you wish, I can try to seek help from an expert.

Let me know in personal message if you want me to find this info from an expert.

as far as I understand it, the Premium Visa is open to nearly anyone, and aslo, you do not have to wait until you are on the island - you can apply for it online today and it will be emailed to you within 48 hours in case you receive approval:

One of the main qualifications is that you do not want to work in Mauritius (you may work remotely / online for a foreign company and receive your main income from that source)

Hi, the one hitch with this premium visa, is if you cannot show a long term house lease... you can only get your visa once you are on the island!  Which is rather a worry.  Has nothing changed on this front?  I do not want to commit to leasing a house for a year that I have not actually seen my self...

Your thoughts?  Thanks  Natasha

and expand the answers under
“What do you need to complete the form?”

1. a valid passport

2 copy of air ticket (including return ticket)

3. a passport size photo

4, a valid email address

5. Pre-accommodation bookings (for Quarantine and post-Quarantine)

6. Travel and health insurance for the period of stay

7. Proof of funds (bank statement or bank attestation) to meet the cost of stay in Mauritius or employment contract

Refer point 5 above - others on this forum who have recently entered Mauritius on the Premium Visa have qualified with a 6-week AirBnB booking. They did have to take out a Health insurance plan from Swan though (point 6).

Morning, thank you, the two unknowns for us until we apply are the accommodation and medical.  We would only book Air bnb for say two weeks while looking for a house to rent.  Certainly not longer than that.  And our medical here in Botswana covers us on the island.  But whether the premium visa accepts both these options I just don't know.  I can only apply for my Premium visa when we know what the airlines are doing post 1 October so I have a ticket to show.  Frustrating hurry up and wait game!

Hi,

Got our premium visa without accommodation booked (besides the first two weeks on arrival). We had to show more docs than the one listed on the premium visa website, however. Things like children birth certificate, letter from employer confirming monthly income, more info on insurance policies. Got it for one year although our return ticket is in April (so 6 months, no open dates further than that at time of booking).

Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for sharing, that is very good news to hear!  Natasha
