Moving to France - Family reunion

Dear All,

I'm from Sri Lanka and my husband is an Irish (from Republic of Ireland) living in France. I'm moving with him to France. After few months of searching, finally he found an apartment which fulfills the requirement of accommodation. Now, one of my friend said me that I have to wait 3 months more to prove his rental payment. After that only I can apply for visa.

I have went through below and it doesn't say so:
https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en_US/web/ … 20country.https://www.service-public.fr/particuli … oits/F2191

I am going to apply for "Family Reunion visa" for 6 months stay and after I come to France, I will have to apply to "le carte de séjour".

Also, some websites mentioned that to get the le care de séjour, my husband should hold the same. But he's a citizen of European Union. Still does he has to obtain it in order for me to get the carte de séjour ?

We were holding our marriage for a long time because of the COVID and finally we could able to do only this March. We're so frustrated and worried that I have to wait even more. Please help us.

Thanks in advance,
Emmi

Hi  Emmi, just one piece of information : your Irish husband does not need a Carte de Séjour in order to live and work in France.  The Irish Republic is still a part of the European Union.  Good luck with everything.

Hi CiliaAnn, thanks. Yeah, he doesn't need. Already he lives and works there. In order to get me there, does he need those identification?
