Partnership visa without living together?

Hi

I recently move to Holland to live with my partner after 3 years of relationship. For a bureaucratic reason, I am here with the zoek-jaar visa but soon I will change it for a partnership visa.

There is a possibility of working in a different part of the country where my boyfriend lives so one of the possibility is that I move to live there during the weekdays renting something else.

So the questions are :

1. Can I do my partnership visa without living with him but being registered at the same address?
1.1 Is it legal to do so? if it is not, what are the consequences?
2. Is it another way to get a visa without living together but still being in a relationship?

Thanks for the answer,

Janella

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

If you change to a partnership visa, then by definition you should be together; however, that doesn't stop you from working elsewhere in the country, so register at your partners address and work elsewhere.  My wife's father did that for 35 years with no problem.

Another alternative would be to apply for a visa in your own right at the end of your current visa.

Hope this helps.
