Hi!

I have done alot of research online and I'm just looking for some reassurance regarding the Iqama medical. I have no concerns about my health, I'm very fit and active. I understand there is a chest X Ray which I believe focuses on lung health. 10 years ago I had a surgery on my back so there is some metal work there which will be seen on the x Ray I imagine. I had a benign tumor removed from my spine.

Is there any chance this would constitute a fail? I don't believe so, as it seems the focus is on disease/contagious conditions?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

I don't think so.  Like you said, it is about contagious diseases.   I have undergone visa medicals in pretty much all of the GCC countries and by far, Saudi is the most relaxed.  For example, for my medical, they didn't even bother to do the X-ray and treated the rest as a formality.  Some other senior people in the company never even did the medical :).  Depends on how connected your sponsor is.  Obviously the medical pre-entry was thorough and undertaken for me in another GCC country i.e. Bahrain so maybe that was why.

Do they only require the medical once? Or do you need to repeat this periodically or with contract renewal?

Hi Aryah,

Thank you for your input also. To my knowledge the contract is ideally looking to be renewed every 12 months. I'm awaiting all the finer details but wanted to do some initial research beforehand.

Do you feel it would make a difference?

Hi Jessica, I posted a follow up question because I'm in the process of interviewing for jobs.
