Payment move in Apartment requirement

Moving into unfurnished Apartment, do I pay 1st and last month rent and deposit ? 3 payments when moving into new Apartment

The normal practice in Uganda for unfurnished apartments is that one pays at least 3 months in advance plus 1 month security deposit, making it 4 months in total
