Quality helmets for people with large heads - where to buy

I have already looked in the classifieds for stores in Ben Cat, Thu Dau Mot, and Saigon without success.  I know there are some because I bought my current helmet in Saigon many years ago, but I don't remember where.  I need what I think would be an "XL" size.

Is there anyone here who knows where to buy large helmets?

This topic has been covered before along with other suggestions of where to shop.  We know the search function is weak here but try a simple search for "helmets"  One word searches usually are OK.  You can't search "helmets for large heads" or "helmets for westerners" without getting way too many irrelevant returns With the one word search, you can probably sort out the relevant threads by their titles.  If I remember correctly, many recommended Andes, but there are many threads to read.  Have fun.   :top:

My general observation is that even if you find a larger helmet it still may not fit properly.  It may fit front to back but be loose on the sides.  This is because, most helmets sold in Vietnam are basically round and most ethnic Europeans have an oval head if viewed from the top.  Even at one of the recommended shops you may have to try on several helmets to find the right one.

Thank you for the two suggestions.

Yes, and I did several searches.  The latest postings were June 2018 for one retailer.  Next most recent was 2014.  With the speed that places change what business they are in, I thought it best to try to get recent suggestions.  I can get one from Amazon for $138.74 + $99.87 Shipping & Import Fees, too, just like the one I have now but new.  I am hoping for a local purchase.

I've never been happy or confident with the 'quality' - or lack there of, when it comes to motorbike helmets here in VietNam.
Ended up bringing my own helmet back in with me from Oz.
It's a ' SHARK EVOLINE SERIES 3 BLANK HELMET ' - somewhat heavy compared to other helmets but it fits me perfectly, has built in vents that WORK yet still seem to keep the rain to the outside.  When ever its bright and sunny, the 'SHARK' has a height adjustable, sun shield, height adjusted from the outside without the need to remove the helmet. :-)
Local Cong An always seem somewhat amazed that the entire face covering area of the 'SHARK' simply lifts up at the touch of a button under the chin area.

The 'BOSS' has now INSISTED than I'm too old to ride my bike around the city.

Learned years ago that I never can will any disagreement with her, so  - A NEW BMW CAR !!!   They are so expensive to purchase here in VN !!!!!   ;-(

Givi point HCM. Official stores in district 10 and district 7 (check official website or social media). Noticed givi website have many 'distributors', but when I checked out (on Google maps) the 'distributor' in Vũng Tàu it turned out to be a small motorcycle repair shop and parts shop rolled into one. I asked givi shop if they are genuine distributors and they sorta laughed.

When I called 'distributor' in Vũng Tàu, it was Vietnamese only. I managed to ask opening times. Givi point HCM staff can speak good English and provide support through Zalo messaging.

I bought a helmet from d.10 branch in January. They do have a good range, but for larger sizes range is limited (I think you may be able to order if size not available there or at d.7 store)

There is also tigit motorbikes in D.2. they have ECE/DOT certified helmets on their motorbike accessories site:
https://chrunix.com/helmet.html

I noticed they have the GiVi helmets and various other brands. You can select large, 2x-large, 3x-large with some helmets. There is also a size guide on how to measure your head to come up with the size. On that site there are useful ratings and reviews from buyers. Some will say if the visor is likely to mist up etc..
