Videoke Machine Suggestions

Hi,

My wife's LG Dolby 5.1 home theater amplifier has crapped out.  She has a DVD videoke that is connected to TV and home theater that seems to be OK for its age. Took receiver to a repair shop and they said it could not be fixed.

Should I just scrap everything and just buy a new combo Videoke/sound system?

Any suggestions in Brands or models?

It has been a while since I shopped audio electronics, not sure what to buy.

I have Wow Videoke. My wife would not allow me to sing on it. 😂

A laptop, simple mixer, a couple of cheapish radio mics, and youtube karaoke downloads.

I have looked around but could not find a 5.1 Dolby receiver, which has a center speaker, 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a subwoofer.

All I have found are 2 channel amplifiers/mixers.

No reason even with a froggily croaky voice would justify you being banned from singing on it. Common, just shove it to ´em. They´ll all be rolling on the floor dying there laughing their ass off! That´s the beauty of it!

Denon make some seriously wonderful receivers and amps.  Not cheap but the quality makes them value for money.

Amongst other more lucrative work, I ran a weekend disco/Karaoke that paid me more in two evenings than I would have got doing a 9 to 5 all week. It started with a pair of turntables and a hernia inducing record collection, but finished with 2 laptops.
I have no idea how big my karaoke collection was, but it was very big with thousands of songs, more if you count the massive collection of Chinese stuff I had on specialist DVD players and another laptop.
This pic is of my basic Saturday night disco kit.

This snap of some of my more serious kit will be a little OTT, but it shows computer based karaoke on steroids.

I just went thru the Amp and speaker thing, Sony is the best here but expensive, most Filipinos use the China brands you can always get them repaird, Konzert or Sakura are popular brands you can order thru Lazada or Shoppee but take care there are a lot of fake amps and speakers  if you already have speakers get the amp to match your speakers, many models to choose from

I got a Megapro Plus AV8000BT 2 channel amp with Bluetooth and 2 wireless speakers and a remote.  The owners manual did not have anything on how to use remote or BT, but I got it figured out.

The LG speakers do not have much bass, so I probably need to buy some speakers, too.
