Finding a room or studio in Amsterdam within a month

I have an offer for a job in Amsterdam. The company would provide accommodation for the first month, but after that I'm on my own.

I don't mind flatsharing at all and would prefer a room over a studio or 1-bedroom flat. I have found a lot of affordable options on funda and kamernet, but I've also read loads of articles which said it's nearly impossible to find anything within less than 3 months because there's so much competition.

I was wondering how much of that is scaremongering. A lot of the rooms on kamernet have been on there for a few weeks or even months. Are potential housemates just very picky or is there something wrong with those rooms? I'm not eligible for social housing, but also not rich enough for agencies specialised in expat housing. My absolute maximum would be 1,400€ bills included, but I'd prefer up to 1,000€ inc. if I were to rent just a room.

It will be very difficult to find a room in amsterdam, most of the rooms you see are for students. Also yes people can be picky, because the huge demand for living accomodations there lots of people to chose from. Some rooms are just terrible or they have a crappy landlord.

Try to find outside of amsterdam for a room or apartment it will be a lot cheaperand the chance that you will find something is a lot higher.

Hi Ele33!
How are you?
Maybe you can contact Vastgoed & Co. ([link under review]), they are willing help to you finding a place. I heard good things.
Good luck!

Hi Mazzo and welcome to the Forum.

The person you're talking to hasn't been on the Forum for a couple of months, plus any links you post are hidden on the general forum until you've made 5 different posts.

Perhaps better to advertise your services in our Services section at the top of the page; then future Expats looking for accommodation in Amsterdam will see what you have to offer.

Stay safe.

Hope this helps.
