Hello Greame,

I moved to Madagascar September 2018 and started a business here. I`m also a South African.

I propose that you visit the Madagascar Embassy in South Africa and explain that you wish to move to Madagascar as an investor. There you need to apply for a Transformable Visa that you need to get to the Economic Development Board of Madagascar (EDBM - Web https://edbm.mg/ ) in Antananarivo soonest after your arrival in Madagascar. EDBM will also assist you with your investor VISA which will be valid for 1 year. Your second VISA application will be for 2 years, etc. . In parallel with your VISA application you need to register your Company at EDBM and/or invest in an existing company.

Do you have some form of business in mind and/or do you prefer to invest in an existing business as partner? Take note that Madagascar is not an easy market to enter, but once you find your feet here, things will start moving forward.

Also, if you have children, here are a few good English schools in Antananarivo.

Should you wish to discuss further, you are most welcome to contact me ***

I trust that this is of assistance.

Best of Regards

Bonjour Andre

I am interested in how you were able to conduct your business and apply for visas.  DO you Speak French and/or Malagasy?  Were there any extra monies paid to complete your service to get your documents completed?  And if so how much extra money did you pay to expedite your documents?
