No one knows. The thing is, other cities has now resumed business and others are still on lockdown. We will have waves of reoccurrence, so it will drag down until at least about 70% is infected - achieving
the epidemiological term of "herd immunity." That is the only way for it stop until we have a vaccine.

robal

If you´re 60 and above and still have other chronic conditions, you should avoid to be a participant of the 70% mentioned above. Let the younger others acquire the herd immunity...

The Iceberg is what you don't see....

I estimate December as a maybe All Safe....I am in the with Stock up Crowd....

I am not sure when Juazerio is going to let up, where still on lockdown.

I am attributing my self imposed Quarantine to 37 years in Alaska and the Isolation of being there...my family in the states are fine , and I think if I would have not moved I would be a cantankerous old man as Brasil has made me accustomed to w8n in line and social distancing is something I allways practiced like staying my 2 feet of private space the length of my arm..

Just hoping a'l stay well, I am youtubing, and shopping as necessary. ..thinking about plugging back in the freezer and collecting carnivores delights....not watching to much of the boob tube yet and no Netflixs waiting on the "No Go Anywhere" orders ..

I think I have entered a "Rodeo" and it's going to be a Wild Buck......Grabbing the Bull by the Horns may help....

Hygeine is King.....

There are again new cases in China and South Korea. So it reoccurs... Brazil´s future is getting really scary...

I am good and yes the Relapse is happening..

California is starting to reopen slowly.  Not all business will be allowed to function, some business will be allowed with restrictions, I am still not going anywhere other than the grocery store and I am desperate for a haircut.

If this virus even results in a persistent enough immune response in enough people to cause a practical herd immunity.   It may end up being like the flu, causing temporary, partial immunities that it then mutates around.   It could just as easily end up as an endemic infection at a lower level of  virulence, after it kills off the most susceptible - or it could burn itself out, like the English Sweat or the 1918 Flu.  The more researchers learn about it, the more complicated and unpredictable it seems.

Something new:
All these people were delivered by buses from SP. Deported with no jobs:
"Forced to leave Brazil for the covid-19 pandemic, a legion of Paraguayan workers find themselves abandoned on the border…",
There are over 200 in the open on the bridge to and from Foz to Paraguay. PY will not allow entry of their citizens. There are a few hostels being set up for those that are screened and quarantined. But over crowded hostels and no-one advising when they can leave has lead to many issues.

What a nice country, Texan, their own citizens.  Wow!

Hey Robal, in case you haven`t received this, I believe it is important to you.

I´m desperate for Costco´s rotisserie chicken and their hotdogs sold close to their entrance. Might save you time and money to use Wahl´s hair clipper and cut your hair to zero. Remove the guard! Use a ballcap to go to the grocery store!

Time can only tell if it burns itself out or be prolific with low intensity like influenza A that changes its antigenic properties easily. It´s possible that it might become an ongoing vaccine because of its propensity to mutate as has been seen.

robal

I was discussing same just yesterday. I am no doctor, just trained for trauma. Tutor ask when I thought a vaccine would come? No idea, but it seemed to be as the Flu where we would need it every year.
I used the HIV as an example. They were sure they would see a vaccine and after 17 + years nothing.
Maybe all the stuff given to animals and plants we eat is finally catching up with us

Tex, did Paraguay ever admit those deportees you told us about that were bussed to the border and left there the other day?

No, but getting a lot of attention now. Paraguay has no place to quarantine and treat.
BR is locked down.

"The Itaipu Saúde GT Working Group, made up of Brazilians and Paraguayans, is trying to speed up the process of releasing them.
"The bridge alone was more than 400 Paraguayans, of whom more than 100 were identified with the new coronavirus. " positive cases in hostels have been responsible for most of those confirmed in Paraguay, which on Tuesday, 12, adds"724 infected (the number of deaths remains stable,"

Wow!  Do they have shelter, or are they camped out on the bridge?

They are on the bridge. Been raining last 2 days and 9 at night
Wish I could post photo.

Man Tex, this is heartless.
On the other hand, there is heartless BS going on here.
Unemployment is exploding, people are losing their jobs left and right, or at least having their hours cut, and now, to help out, groceries have had the highest price increase in the last 50 years.  We went grocery shopping this morning and I commented with my wife about the prices.  In the news tonight it was confirmed.
Got to love the 1%.

That's very sad on all accounts. Where is the compassion and common sense, maybe it is the New Normal.
No Care for Fellow Man..
Food Prices Ridiculous and to think we are only at the "Beginning" of this BS.
Thanks for the link Big TeX..

Health Alert – U.S. Embassy Brasilia, Brazil (May 14, 2020)

Location: Brazil

Event: COVID-19 Related Movement Restrictions in Brazil

The U.S. Mission in Brazil informs U.S. citizens that several state and local governments across Brazil have issued decrees that restrict the movement of people in an effort to combat the spread of COVID-19.  U.S. citizens should adhere to local laws and regulations at all times, including COVID-19 related restriction orders.

While under these restrictions, jurisdictions may establish checkpoints and law enforcement authorities may require that traveling individuals provide identification documents and a justification for travel.  Some local governments have implemented vehicle restrictions, allowing travel for certain vehicles only on designated days of the week.  Some jurisdictions have implemented the mandatory use of facial masks and citizens in public without a mask may be instructed to return home.  In addition, authorities may impose fines on individuals not adhering to any of the movement restrictions.

In all locations, essential services such as supermarkets, pharmacies, and hospitals remain open for business.

All persons in Brazil, regardless of nationality, are subject to these restrictions as well as all local laws.  If you are detained or arrested, the U.S. government can neither secure your release nor act as your legal representative.

Love the clip. I could dance all day with those chicks together with my Código from Jalisco. Código
me now...

I'm sure you know the King of Country from Austin.
Had tickets for his last show this Sept in Vegas, but no more.
The clip shows his wife (she id dancing with her also).
Hard to find Codigo. Texas no problem. Did find it in Vegas (had to pay customs to bring it in) They have it in Rose also. Codigo in French wine barrels for a year and it is smooth.
Pretty nice getting a tequila with his name.

What I fear really is the return of hyperinflation in Brazil - "tabelamento de preços" and a
new currency of 1:1 to the dollar as a result of that.

A quick update of COVID-19 cases in Brazil per the Ministry of Health report:

1. Deaths now totalling 13,149
2. Confirmed cases: 188,974

I really never tried Código. Patron - I buy it every now and then. A very good tequila.
