Applying for UK Work Visa from within the UK

Hey All,

Im an Australian thats been staying in London for the past month under a general tourist visa.

I am hoping now to stay longer and to obtain a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Work Visa.

As far as I can tell, I will need to leave the UK (possibly to Paris or Ireland) to get the necessary Biometric documents completed.

Does anyone know if I will then need to stay in that country until the visa comes back, or if I can just have it sent to my home address in London?

Does anyone have a similar experience of applying for a work visa from within the UK and how did you go about it?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The only issue I can think of is how long you will be without your passport; I think they only scan it when you apply abroad, but if they retain it for any reason, then you can't travel anywhere. Apart from that, I can't see it being a problem.
