I recently gained employment in Riyadh. I am currently going through the medical check list and I have heard that if you are on anti depressants the Saudi embassy will not issue you a visa.
Has anyone got any more background information on this?

They don't check for anti depressants. The blood tests are for illnesses like HIV, Hep B, Hep C etc.
It all comes down to your own declaration in the pre-employment medical that you will do. Most people don't declare and don't have issues - even when they get treated here and fill prescriptions.
GCC government concerns are around infectious incurable diseases.
I wouldn't worry too much about it and don't unnecessarily declare irrelevant details.
