Teaching english in South Korea

Hi all. I've just recently started researching teaching English in South Korea. It looks as if many people are in Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. Any information about these places will be so helpful!! I know opinions will differ for each person, but I don't know- let's see if you can give me some pros/cons of these places. Thanks!!

Also, if you used a recruiter to make your way out to teach in South Korea which one did you use?

Hi and welcome on board annakye333!

I hope other members will advise you soon!

We Teach in Ulsan wich is about and hour north of Busan and really like it.  It is an industrial city, so not as much English and it doesn't feel very international which was one reason we chose it instead of the bigger cities.  Seoul sometimes just feel like any Big US city to some extent.  Here's a map of our city with some sites:

Here's some articles we've written on living in South Korea:

Here's a book about getting a job and teaching in South Korea:

We used Footprints Recruiting and were happy with them.  We recommend getting a public school job over a hagwon job, but there are pros and cons for both.
Hope that helps.
