Welcome to the forum. You can get a lot of good information here. You might post on the top thread - "New members...", and possibly get more responses.
We don't live there, but our neighbor is from Punta Gorda. It's heavily populated with indigenous Mayan families, and some of the laws on property ownership may not be the same as the rest of Belize.

I lived in Jocintoville for 6 years just a few miles from PG. no doubt this area is the secret gem of Belize we loved it there. Planning to move back by next fall and starting a small housing development
