My husband and I are finding that the lawyer we hired in Pasig, Philippines is taking us for a ride. We are not sure which way to turn. He refuses to act on our case giving excuse after excuse. When researching reviews of this same lawyer others are saying he charges fees for doing things but never really does them. That is what we are finding as well. Would you be able to assist us by advising us how to go about getting our money back or getting this lawyer to do the job we hired him to do?

As a California lawyer, I don't know the explicit rules of the PR. I do know that there is a PR Bar association and, as most of them are really consumer protection groups, I'd go there and lodge your complaint. Let them sort it out for you. There should be no charge for their work and that lawyer will be especially kind to you. He could lose or endanger his license.
