Job for non german speakers

Hey there,

How many chances are there for non German speakers to find a job?
My case: i have a PhD, worked in research but i also had some jobs in HR, PR or IT.
Will my chances increase if i ll reach some very basic knowledge ( say an A2 level of German ), or i need to speak it well, in order to be relevant?

Hi Diana,

Welcome to Expat.Com  :)

What kind of job are you looking for ?

If you have to interact with german speakers everyday, it will be better to learn and have some good german skills...

All the best,
Bhavna

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Yep, of course I need to learn the language and I will, but due to some sudden circumstances, I might move there in two or three months ( in this little ammount of time I will only be able to attain a beginner's level - this is actually my problem ).
Regarding the job, I m looking for anything that could be done in English - Human resources, assistant manager, customer support etc. in multinationals or small intercultural bussinesses ( i d think there's a better chance to use only English there ).

Regards,
